Funeral for a Spy

Mark Wolfe, as MI6's Senior Consultant, is an overqualified yet undervalued part-timer at Vauxhall House, but an attack on his life in his own home brings the reality of working for Six back into dangerous focus. Especially when his would-be assassin is purported to be working for il Fantasma, a man Mark was sent to kill in 1989, inaugurating a war between opposing mafiosi in order to break the Russian stranglehold of illegal operations in Naples and Capri.

As the murders of Service personnel connected to his old mission mount, Mark travels back into his own past and, paired with a rookie asset in southern Italy, begins to question just how much faith MI6 still have in an analogue spy in a digital world. With rumours of a mole in London, and his fractured family dragged into acts of twisted vengeance, Mark must finally complete a mission from yesteryear that was never put to bed once the Cold War thawed.
