When the skeleton of a teenage girl is found under the patio of a North London house, Superintendent Mike Walker is assigned to investigate. But Walker is unhappy about working on the case. Not only have forensic tests dated the death from years ago, when the house operated as a B&B, he has to work on the case with the ex-boyfriend of his current partner, Pat North.

However, things soon hot up when the murder team unearth more skeletons and Walker suddenly finds himself in charge of one of the biggest investigations in recent years.
